Amanda Craig
Amanda Craig graduated from Cape Fear Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Interior Design and Architecture. She began her career in Wilmington, North Carolina where she worked at a residential design firm, refining her passion for creating one-of-a-kind interiors. After years of experience working with clients in Wilmington, she moved to Asheville and began working at Yesterday’s Tree in 2014. She has since maintained a diverse range of projects, from hotels, corporate offices, and salons to residential projects. She enjoys working with clients to achieve their design goals while respecting their budget. Her goal is to infuse the client’s personality, taste, and functional needs into each project.
Heather Milner
Heather Milner graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design. She began at Yesterday’s Tree as an intern, and has since been with the store as a designer. She has a keen eye for creating interiors that uniquely reflect the personality of each client she works with. For Heather, the client/designer relationship is very personal. In each of her projects, one will find a unique perspective that reflects a love of pattern, rich color, and eclectic one-of-a-kind furniture and accessories. Heather’s experience and training has helped her to build successful relationships with clients, contractors, architects, and fellow tradesmen alike.
Robin Thomas
Robin Thomas’ career with Yesterday’s Tree began in 2003. She finds a real sense of joy and fulfillment in collaborating with clients to create homes that are beautiful, functional, and most importantly: their own. Her goal is to make furniture and home decor decisions an easy and enjoyable process for anyone who comes into Yesterday’s Tree.
Jayme Ray
From the moment she fluffed her first pillow, flipped through her first swatchbook, and starred in the store’s first TV commercial 33 years ago, Jayme knew that Yesterday’s Tree was where she belonged. Having literally grown up own her mother’s store, she’s now an invaluable help in keeping it running – managing, buying, merchandising…, and being Mom to four young Yesterday’s Tree TV models of her own.
Peggy Yarborough
When Peggy left her teaching job in 1980, Yesterday’s Tree was a small store specializing in unfinished wood furniture (that’s where the name came from). She certainly had bigger ideas, and the inventory soon contained a few upholstery pieces, some lamps, a few accessories, until she had grown the business into a full-fledged home furnishings showplace. After a fire in 2004 completely destroyed the original store, Peggy admits she considered getting out of the business, but she reconsidered after messages of support from customers, suppliers, and friends. Peggy reopened in her current location just a few weeks later. Today, though her grandchildren, her horses, and her dogs take plenty of her time and attention, you can almost always find her in the store, as excited as ever to help a customer discover a piece or two that’s just perfect for their home.
Nick Wilkinson
To the untrained eye it might look like Nick’s job at Yesterday’s Tree is to do all the heavy stuff — loading, unloading, rearranging (such is the life of the only man at the store). He’s certainly a lot more than just a strong back, his eye for merchandising and display, his understanding of how furniture is designed and crafted, and his easy, knowledgeable way with even the most demanding customers make him a crucial part of the Yesterday’s Tree management team. Nick is our window treatment expert as well. He focuses on meeting customer needs for window coverings through custom blinds and shades.
Cortney Wilkinson
As a longtime admirer of Architecture, Textiles, Design, Cortney recently joined the Yesterday’s Tree family. Cortney has earned her bachelor in science in Textile Management from the top textile school in the nation, North Carolina State University. She has become an integral part of our team. Using her past work experience with color and design, and her knowledge of quality furnishings has evolved into an even greater passion for decorating which is now being passed on to our customers. Aside from her creative energy and attention to detail, her love for world travel inspires her modern expertise on design trends, style, and enhances her talent for creating extraordinary spaces for home.
